I was born in Trenton, New Jersey at the turn of the United States Civil Rights Movement. My family instilled in me the importance of having someone in your corner, as well as resilience in the face of adversity. In the 1980's, thanks in part to A Better Chance, I received a scholarship which allowed me to attend Amherst High School, kicking off my higher education journey.

At Wesleyan University and the University of Southern California, where I attained my Bachelors in Economics and Masters in Business Administration: Finance respectively, I learned the importance of outreach and of supporting the places and people who support you.
My time there was a continuation of the lessons of community and responsibility that my mother taught me:

After college, as I began my time in the corporate world, I felt a calling for service. Just as my family was there for me in the streets of Trenton, I wanted to be there for others who needed support. That desire leads me to this day to work on initiatives that impact local communities. My work within the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association, Nor-Cal FDC, Building Dreams, and more are a continuation of my beliefs.
